An oasis of greenery « Grand Charm » Cottage

The Grand Charm is a five bedroom, 4 bathroom old stone house and is the largest property at the Ferme Du Cayla.

It can accommodate up to 12 people and is ideal for large families or groups of friends.

This house offers air-conditioning in all rooms on the first floor and has stunning views of the valley, gardens and the central courtyard.

Originally a farmhouse which was completely renovated after WW2, the old stone walls and original beams give a sense of history to a house which has been in the family for 3 generations.

The large covered dining terrace is a feature of the property. The vista – and this is no exaggeration – is truly amazing.

« Grand Charm » Cottage Living spaces

The living space inside the Grand Charm is quite substantial so is organised into separate areas and the large kitchen/dining room has as its focal point a large, open stone fireplace.

With the original oak floors and wooden beams, the lounge is a wonderfully comfortable space in which to relax. The library and two extremely comfortable modern sofas make it the perfect place to laze around or read a favourite book.

The kitchen is modern and has all necessary appliances such as dishwasher, washing machine fridge, microwave and child friendly induction hob. Plus, of course the Nespresso machine for that all- important morning coffee.

On the first floor, there are 3 bedrooms which all have en-suite bathrooms with bath/shower and their own walk-in wardrobes. Two of the bedrooms have king-sized beds and are decorated with wooden bedheads made by local artisans. The third bedroom is a twin with two large single beds.

Downstairs there is a large double bedroom with a king size bed. Next door is the fifth bedroom with both a double and single bed. The two downstairs bedrooms are served by a large bathroom across the landing.

As mentioned in the introduction to this remarkable property, the Grand Charm has the largest terrace on the domain – 42 sq metres- and it would be tempting to spend the whole day here! The panorama from this particular spot is remarkable.

Centrally there is a large modern dining table which seats at least 12 people quite comfortably.

The view from one side of the terrace is of our Bio gardens, and the food grown there is used in many of the exquisite dishes served in our evening restaurant. Relax here after sunset and enjoy the heady scent of jasmine, lavender and aromatic herbs around the terrace carried on the night air.
