When we saw the view from the area that is now the Pergola restaurant when first we visited the Ferme du Cayla, we could see this was the ideal place for a summer restaurant. The decision was made !
The petanque court gave way to gastronomy and the Pergola restaurant was born. It has a serene, open view of the Cele Valley and sits cosily under the bespoke wooden pergola which gives shade during the day and atmosphere in the evening.
La Pergola offers both food grown locally as well as using our own produce grown in our bio gardens on the farm.
The children on the Domain can eat together in the restaurant at around 6.30pm, which then allows older children to enjoy cinema nights or other activities while parents eat between 7.30 and 8.30pm, relaxing and enjoying a peaceful meal if they so desire. It goes without saying that some families also enjoy eating together, especially when children are older and of course, this is fine.
On the Sunday evening at the beginning of your stay, we offer an informal pizza evening. Thereafter, there is a different menu each evening with a choice of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts.
We also give you the opportunity to eat in different spaces as lunch is served to you in your cottage or alfresco and breakfast is served in the indoor Stone restaurant.
Our Chef can change every year and this we believe gives us a great opportunity to explore different genres of food with each chef that we recruit. As I (James) was trained by my father in the environs of our family hotel business back in the UK in the 90’s it goes without saying that quality of food and efficient service is truly close to my heart.
We look forward to welcoming you offering you some exquisite culinary delights…
